Finding your way around a new interface can be difficult, frustrating and discouraging.

It's simple and if you've already got the shapes dialed in DAZ it'll take five minutes.Learning the ins and outs of any new software can be intimidating. Obviously modeling software can give you virtually unlimited options with regard to how to shape a character, but if you're just trying to give someone longer arms, smaller breasts, or any other shape you can come up with right inside DAZ, you don't have to mess with another program at all. There's plenty of detailed info on how to do all of this on other forum posts, but everyone always focuses on exporting a default shaped figure and modeling in other software. Way over simplified directions probably and it's a safe bet I'm forgetting something. You may need to adjust rigging to shape, under the edit/figure/rigging menu, and I always seem to forget the ERC freeze. Then you can load up a new compatible default figure and load you morph. I suggest a folder called my morphs or whatever you want. Simply change the subD of your character to 0 in the properties pane, delete the eyelash prop, and export an obj. It really is much better to make a morph, and you like the shapes you're coming up with the way you're doing it now, then you really don't need an outside modeling program. One trouble with making character shapes by scaling various body parts is that a premade pose that you may want to use will often reset those scales back to default or whatever adjustment whoever made the pose wanted to use. Don't get fooled like I did at first both panes serve different purposes. Oh, right: at first it seems as if there's a full overlap between properties when looking at the 'Shaping' pane and the 'Parameters' pane. Interesting question IMO! I actually learned something new here. See also the "Save as." section in the file menu.

This seems to reflect your situation guess I was both right and wrong at the same time ) While morphs are indeed methods to change the physical appearance of a figure / mesh, shaping is the method of applying one (or more) morphs to a figure and then optionally saving all of that, which gets you a shape preset. Unfortunately the only way to make a morph that I know is to use an external 3D editor to physically change your figure.Īlas, the idea puzzled me so I did some digging of my own into the documentation and it would seem that you're looking for shaping and setting up shaping presets. Creating a morph which contains all your changes would be an easy way to save your customization and then apply it onto others. Although I'm not 100% sure here my suggestion would be to look into morphs.
